A constitution for Writers Forum (revised)

This revision to the constitution of Writers Forum is made in the light of Adrian Clarke's unequivocal  resignation as WF Convenor on 11th July 2010.

I make this revision as the sole remaining and legitimate convenor of Writers Forum.

I also make it in the context of an attempt to hijack the name of Writers Forum, by a passing off deception, by a few past attendees at the Writers Forum Workshop and some others.

It is clearly my revision to make.

There shall be one or more convenors at the discretion of the existing convenor(s).  Whenever possible, there should be one or three convenors, no more, but not two.

On the resignation of a convenor, the remaining convenor(s) shall appoint another convenor to replace them if they deem it appropriate to do so.

There shall be an assistant convenor at the discretion of the convenor(s). On the resignation of an assistant convenor, the convenor(s) shall appoint another convenor to replace them if they deem it appropriate to do so. The powers of the Assistant Convenor shall be delegated by the decision of the Convenor(s). No powers reside by appointment with an Assistant Convenor.

All decisions relating to Writers Forum including location of workshops and other events, scheduling of workshops and other events, verbal and written statements on behalf of Writers Forum, editing and publishing of books and magazines shall be taken solely by the convenors.

Decisions of the convenors shall be consensual where possible except when the convenors have consensually agreed to delegate a decision; if consensus cannot be reached, then a majority will decide.

Those who attend the Writers Forum Workshop are members of that workshop only during the workshop(s). No matter how long or often people attend, they do not have any say in its management or future as of right though their opinions and advice may well be sought.

The WF convenors shall listen to the opinions and suggestions of those who attend the workshops and act on them as they see fit.

Attending Writers Forum Workshops does not entitle anyone to be included in publications by Writers Forum.

It is recognised that, over the years, the convenor(s) have referred to themselves as Directors of Writers Forum. It is hereby decided to adopt this term formally, together with the term Assistant Director for the Assistant Convenor, to be used at the discretion of the individual concerned.
